Q: How long will it take to make my personalised jewellery?A: Items take approximately 10 - 15 working days from payment to make due to orders. On occasion it may take a couple more days due to heavy orders and popular gift seasons e.g: Valentines Day, Mothers Day or Christmas. Please read Terms and Conditions. Note: We are the fastest in New Zealand, others can take up to 4 - 5 weeks. Q: Why does it take 10 - 15 working days? A: It would be a lot faster if your order was the only one but we have many orders and only so many people in the workshop. We make the jewellery in order of the sales that come through our website.We make our jewellery from scratch, we don't have blanks sitting there all ready to be engraved. Each piece is made with careful precision.We can sometimes do your order within 8 - 10 working days, all depends on how many orders we have at that time, but we put 10 - 15 working days as a safe time period, so customers can plan if it is a present for someone and need it by a certain date.
Q: How do I let you know what name/engraving I want for my personalised jewellery?A: Whoops you missed the comment box at check out to personalise your order? .. not to worry. Simply e-mail us the name or engraving to: sales@tabithajewellery.co.nz or fill out this form here. Please make sure all spelling is correct.
Q: Can I get extra engraving or extra parts added after receiving my pendant?A: Sorry no, we do not offer that service. Q: Are you a New Zealand business?A: Yes we are! Based in Sydenham, Christchurch. (that is why we can deliver so quickly, compared to others) Don't be fooled... there are other personalised jewellery online stores out there with .co.nz at the end of their web address, but are based in Australia, China, America and Israel. Q: Will Sterling Silver tarnish (change colour)?A: Yes it will sooner or later. It depends on person's body acid, weather conditions (humidity), how often you wear it and if you swim or shower with the jewellery. Lotion, perfume also speed up tarnishing. Go to your local supermarket and purchase a silver cleaning cloth or liquid and it will come up like new. If you have tin foil and baking soda at home, watch the video below with instructions on how to clean the tarnish off your jewellery. Q: Can I wear gold plated jewellery everyday, will it wear off?A: Yes gold plated jewellery will eventually wear off. Even if you're dealing with a thick plating, the interaction of the metal with the skin and perspiration will cause it to fade. You can help maintain it by not wearing every day, while working out, swimming etc. Even body spray/perfumes can speed up the process.
Q: What is the difference between 9ct and 14ct gold?A: Different carats are identified by a percentage of pure gold in a particular alloy/metal.
9ct gold is 38% pure gold14ct gold is 58% pure gold18ct gold is 75% pure gold22ct is 92% pure gold
14ct has good strength and good colour too. It can be more expensive than 9ct but less than 18ct. For the extra money you would pay for 14ct against 9ct as it is far outweighed by the benefits of using it. It acts and looks more like 18ct than 9ct and it's hard to tell the difference between it and 18ct when looking at it on face value.The other metals are mixed in with the gold to give the piece hardness so it lasts longer. Pure gold is very soft and will wear quickly and isn't very strong, especially for jewellery pieces that are worn.
